Bright chrome plating (commonly known as chrome plating) is a process of electroplating a thin layer of chromium onto a metal surface.
The triple plating process of decorative chrome involves plating first with copper and then nickel before the chrome plating is applied. The copper and nickel provide the smoothness and corrosion resistance. The chrome provides a cold silver colour rather than the yellow tint of the nickel below.
